I am writing this letter out of complete frustration with the health insurance offered to a group of citizens who are currently on Social Security Disability and because of the guidelines set up by our law makers are currently uninsured. We are talking about people on Social Security Disability, not able to work because of health related issues. This is my personal experience and i am well aware there are people with the same issue.
I worked all my life to raise my 4 children along with their father we worked hard to try and provide for them the best we could. There father died suddenly of a heart attack and shortly after that i started having some medical problems at which time i applied for Social Security Disability and was approved April of 2010. At that time i was on Medicaid. Shortly after receiving my Social Security they discontinued my medicaid stating that my Social Security Disability payment was over the guidelines for medicaid. Bottom line out on Social Security Disability with health issues and no health insurance.
The issue is i had 2 cat scans done and the second one showed an increase in size of a lung nodule and lymph nodes which is a definite concern and needs to be followe up ASAP. I do not qualify for medicare until April of 2012.
I called every agency there is to call and have been getting the same answer without health insurance you have to pay cash, i do not have much cash left after paying rent, gas , electric, food and living expenses.
My doctor at Complete Care said to call and see of any doctors can give me a sliding scale payment plan but no luck there either. Now in this great country where people come here to have all kinds of medical procedures done free, there is some of your citizens that who can’t get any help with their medical issues cause of guidelines. Like i said before there are many people out there with the same problem or worse.
If i can’t find any help then i have to wait till April of 2012 for the medicare at which time if it is cancer it will have time to attack my body further. I can not believe this is happening in the Great Country.
We can not allow this country to ignore us we deserve better than that. I am not ready to give up and die because i fall above the guidelines. I have alot more living to do so watch out lawmakes here we come.
If anyone has any suggestions regarding my personal issue with the medical insurance contact me at the herald, and if anyone would like to get a group together to fight our lawmakers about these guideline again contact me at the herald.
