If We’re to Talk, Discussions Must Follow

By Donna Rothman, Avalon

To the Editor:
I agree with Art Hall’s sentiment that “We’ve Got to Talk” but based on Micki Goldberg’s letter, discussions seldom followed her queries. The answers were always pat sound bites (that I’ve also heard) articulating, “Think how we felt during the last eight years.” Communications stopped when she asked, “Why did you feel that way?”
Hall’s comments that Hillary supports taking infants’ lives right up to the point of delivery is an interpretation taken out of context. Hillary said you “can regulate (later abortions) if you are doing so with the life and the health of the mother taken into account,” or if the viability of the fetus is doubtful.
I suppose Hall supports punishing women for choosing an abortion over death? I suppose Hall wants the government making health decisions for women?
Hall wants less government or is that position only good for men? Think again, Hall!
