Hypocritical Oath

By Arthur Blomkvest, North Cape May

To the Editor:
Do as I say, not as I do; this appears to be the motto that guides Lower Township Deputy Mayor Norris Clark. Mr. Clark again revealed his true character during the Feb. 17 Lower Township Council meeting when he used council comments to criticize the Republican majority for the RFP process that was used several months back to procure a professional service.
Incredibly, Mr. Clark criticized the process even though he, the mayor and their former sidekick refused to use any semblance of an RFP process when he was a part of the majority on council. Mr. Clark’s preferred practice was to award township jobs and non-fair, non-open contacts to political friends. Indeed, the two years when he was a part of the majority he gave a township job to his campaign public relations (PR) man, appointed his campaign manager to a paid, township board and gave non-fair, non-open contacts to multiple professionals who supported him politically.
His comments Feb. 17 are yet another example of his hypocrisy. I warn all residents to dig beneath the surface when listening to Mr. Clark; his words usually contradict his actions.
The author is a former Lower Township council member.
