To The Editor:
To comment on some recent editorials in some of our weekly newspapers, I’ve found the Herald to be fair and balanced as opposed to others.
With all due respect to some right-wing beliefs, there have been rather hollow messages put forth. How does one individual believe we’ve gotten to the “Worst economic environment in decades?” Eight years of Bush-Cheney and 28 years of Reaganomics have almost destroyed our country.
The further comments on the “Inexperience of President Obama,” yet the right may clamor to a half-term governor from a state with no people. To say nothing of a total lack of brainpower. An individual commented on salt, yes salt, the idea here is to again regulate, and in this case the FDA. Do you see where deregulation has gotten us in the last 30 years? Bank failures, economic failures, free-market-free fall. And now the latest highly catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf.
The editorial writer I’m referring to has sighted the 2010 elections and the disastrous results he anticipates. However, too soon for his premature procrastination. Should the public vote the way he suggests, we will return to where we have been prior to 2008 — an inch from disaster. This man comments on socialism, wouldn’t that be safer for now than economic disaster and depression?
We came oh-so close with his people. Will we ever get there? Doubt it. However, we can try… his way is the wrong way. These right-wing zealots always think they’re right. But, do remember, the definition for insanity.
