Hello to the New Bandstand

To the Editor: 
Sadly watching Cape May’s bandstand succumb to a giant steel monster, I thought of all the straw hat old souls who chirped from that majestic birdcage. Then, the news of the Rolling Stones playing Cuba hit the wires. A half century after all that 60’s craziness. Wrap your head around that. The inspiration that fueled Rock, imagine the money the inspiration made for others. That would be like the 1920’s music sticking around until the 80’s. The heck with all the attention of the new bandstand. Focus on satellites buzzing on an endless night, beaming pay-per-view concerts from Cape May’s beaches. Let’s flash some lazars off the grand lady of the sea’s witch’s peaks.
