Glad Montgomery Works for People of Lower

To the Editor:
We would like to commend Don Montgomery who works for Lower Township Animal Control, because if it were not for him, my little dog would not have survived.
One day, when I came home from shopping, I noticed there was a big hole under my fence, which my dogs had dug and two of my little dogs got out.
My granddaughter, Kaitlyn Ann Fitzpatrick, and I went looking for the dogs. After about two hours (with no luck), I called animal control. When I described the dogs to Montgomery, he said he had gotten a call about 3 p.m that one of my dogs had been spotted at the MUA. This is quite a distance from my house. We headed to the MUA and Montgomery met us there. He felt my dog was still there. He went to the MUA office and he explained what had happened. He was given the key to open the gate to look for my dog. We followed him in and went down all these wet and dirt roads. It was raining and damp. The whole time my granddaughter never gave up faith that we would find her, but I was losing hope. We were in the back roads for over an hour and a half, but Montgomery did not give up. He felt she was back there, and there she was, walking down the road, wet and tired.
We were so glad to see her. She was spotted at 3 p.m. and it was now 8 p.m. She would not have found her way home. We were so grateful to Montgomery for his continued effort and not giving up. When we found the dog, he was not finished. He fed the dog and also gave her water, but I was still concerned about my other little dog. Montgomery said she was probably looking for my dog and would be home soon.
He was right. I was home about an hour when she arrived home also wet and tired. Any animal is like a member of your family. It is so nice to know that Don cares about people and their animals.
I am very glad he works for the people of Lower Township and their furry friends.
