Gives Thumbs Up to Cape Regional

By Thompson

To The Editor:
After many years of living here in Cape May County, I have heard and even experienced some of the horror stories associated with the local hospital. I am writing now to let residents know that things have, and are changing.
I was taken to the emergency room the other day. Let me tell you that I have not been treated better at any of the many hospitals I’ve been admitted to in my 70+ years of life. I walked into the desk and was asked a few questions. In less than five minutes, I was escorted to a bed in the ER where a nurse met me and began to take my vitals.
Before she even finished, the ER doctor was there to examine me and within 10 or 15 minutes, I was taken for a CT scan and given an EKG. When I returned from the CT scan, it was only a few minutes until the doctor came in to tell me that they would be keeping me and I would be taken upstairs as soon as a room became available.
During that wait I was never left alone more than about 15 minutes. The care and concern for me was exceptional, and I might add that it continued after I was transferred to the main hospital. I would like to offer a special thank you to Doctor Richard Troum, the ER doctors and nurses, and also to the nurses and doctors in the main hospital. They were all wonderful, and the care I received was fantastic.
I recommend our hospital to everyone who is in need of medical care.
