For Once Reader Agrees With Publisher’s Column

By HALLIGAN

To the Editor:
For once I agree with Art Hall, who urges voters to support those candidates that will help small businesses. (“Do we want …light taxes so our investments and work pay off?)
It’s startling to see Hall has finally set aside blind conservative, ideology in favor of Democrats that are championing small business tax relief. On Sept. 16, President Obama signed eight tax cuts for small businesses into law, and has on the table another eight tax cut proposals.
And the NJ Assembly is about to override a Christie veto of a bill (sponsored by Democrats) that will boost small business coffers through a homebuyers tax credit (contractors get work, and people buy paint, swing sets, Tupperware5, Elvis portraits and stuff), coupled with a new provision in the bill that will ease the state’s regulatory arm for small businesses.
I am positive that Hall widely applauds Obama’s fixing federal regulations for the financial services industry so that those monster institutions that brought this country to a Category Five soup-line level recession, can’t do it again and hurt their small-business kin.
So refreshing to see that he is urging readers to reject the candidates party of “No” because they are more concerned with getting back in power than getting small businesses throughout the country and in New Jersey back on their collective feet.
That’s what he was talking about, right, Mr. Hall?
