Election’s Over and ‘The Beat Goes On’

By Carroll III

To The Editor:
Well, fertilizer day has come and gone and the “Beat Goes On.” Regardless of whichever party takes office, nothing will change.
After all the votes are tallied, both parties will gather at the local watering hole in Court House and toast victory to each other because both parties win and we the voters, the people, are the losers. Nothing will change. “The Beat Goes On.”
Many years ago, I sent my sample ballot back to the county elec-tion board and told them to recycle it into something useful like toilet paper.
They sent me a post card with why I wanted to be removed from the voters’ registration, two choices: I either moved or I died. Typical gov-ernment response, and the “Beat Still Goes On.”
