To The Editor:
As I sit here on my day off at my house that is located at South Railroad Avenue in Rio Grande. I can’t believe the noise that seems to have increased from dump trucks that are working out of the new A & H recycling pit down the street from me.
Ever since this has been open, trucks have been using Railroad Avenue for their main route to and from the recycling pit. Not all dump trucks are noisy and loud, some are quiet and some are very loud. The loud trucks seem to be running straight pipes. I would hope that the owners of these dump trucks would respect the area they are driving though and quiet these vehicles. Their speed at times seem to be faster than the posted limit, which is too high for a residential area (45mph).
These trucks run all day, some don’t have their cover over but most do when they have a load of product being delivered. All I ask is to quiet the trucks that are too loud and slow down. Maybe the county could look at the speed limit on South Railroad Avenue.
