To the Editor:
Fulling Mill Road now has a solar-powered ‘Your Speed’ sign after the 35 mph sign as drivers travel toward Bayshore Road in Villas. Eventually, people may catch on and slow down.
Another change is that the traffic signal at Exit 10 off the Garden State Parkway has been timed to allow drivers to make the left towards the hospital more quickly.
Drivers continue to make the left on the corner of Route 47 and Fulling Mill Road in an attempt to beat oncoming traffic when there is a green turn arrow that works just fine.
The one-way sign by Wawa and Rio Grande Firehouse is frequently ignored and drivers must continue to be alert. Those making a left turn anywhere around here will be passed on the right. I fear for bicyclists. Plus, those drivers making a right will be passed on their left, even if the one doing the passing heads into oncoming traffic.
Some things have changed. Much remains the same. But I do know one thing; defensive driving is a priority around here. Let’s all be safe and give ourselves extra time. You just may be driving behind someone who has just made funeral arrangements for a loved one or has a newly-discharged surgical outpatient with them in the car.
