To The Editor:
Senator Robert Menendez should have addressed the reason why so many people across America think the worst of their elected officials instead of just his accomplishment for New Jerseyans, which we all appreciate.
I believe that most Americans think the worst was proven by the way they handled the Health Care Bill. The president was elected on his promise of an open and transparent process, no closed doors and back-room deals. Did that happen? When you have the president of the United States go on national TV and tell a reporter he will know what is in the bill after it passes, what kind of answer is that? If the politicians truly believe the bill was good for Americans, then why couldn’t the details be released before the vote, and why does the president have to go out now and sell it to Americans? Also, if it is so great then why are they not required to participate in the insurance program that they think is good for the rest of us?
If the senator and the rest of our elected officials are listening to us, then why didn’t they address our concerns before they rushed to vote? I think I have made some direct questions regarding our elected officials. Do you think the senator could give me and the rest of America a direct answer without a campaign speech?
