To The Editor:
I would like to acknowledge all those who attended the 2010 Bullying and Domestic Violence conference, “Creating Safe Schools, Safe Communities.” Their presence and support was, and is, greatly appreciated. We sincerely thank them for their continued support of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Cape May County Bullying and Domestic Violence Working Group and their mission to reduce and to ultimately prevent instances of Bullying and Domestic Violence throughout Cape May County.
The Prosecutor’s Office and the members of the working group look forward to many more events and opportunities to present information on these important issues. This feedback is critical to our efforts so please contact Community Justice Coordinator Melisha Anderson-Ruiz at 609-465-1135 or manderson @cmcpros.net with any comments, suggestions, and concerns, or to inquire about free presentations.
In light of recent events at Massachusetts’ South Hadley High School, where a young woman took her life in response to constant and unrelenting peer abuse, it is now more than ever pertinent that our community tackles the issue of bullying. The consequences are dire and cannot be addressed as mere child’s play.
When nationally 30 percent of young people are bullies, victims of bullies, or both, it speaks volumes about our culture. Fortunately, many bullying and domestic violence instances are preventable. Please continue to support our efforts so that we in turn may support our schools and communities.
Marilyn Ferguson, an influential American author, wrote, “The greatest revolution of our generation is that of human beings, who by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives.”

Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
