Benefit for Joey Hart

By Donahue

To the Editor:
We want to thank the enormous crowd that gathered at the Bay View Feb 6 to celebrate our son Joey Hart’s life.
We are still overwhelmed at the tremendous support we have received from the people of Cape May County. There are so many people to thank and to name them all would take this whole letter but we would like to name the ones responsible for organizing the event, Jim and Britt Maschio, TJ, Tony and Domi Repholtz, Amanda Donahue, Monika Baczek, Joe Kolodi and Melissa Coombs.
There were no less than 500 people there and we think it was closer to 650, but who’s counting?! They were able to make up 70+ baskets to raffle off with the donations they received from countless local businesses, private individuals and businesses out of the county.
There were three fantastic bands that also donated their time: Flip N Mickeys, Isn’t It Always, Gordon Vincent & The Overwhelming Everything as well as D.J. Tanner from 106.3 WJSE.
The night was like no other and Joey would have loved it but we know he was there cause he would never miss a party, especially one for him! Joey knew a lot of people. They all loved him and came out to support us and celebrate the person he was and the memories he left us all with.
There are still ‘Team Hart’ shirts available. If you are interested you can send a message on Facebook to me, Aimee Donahue.
Thank you all again. It was a fantastic night and we will never forget it!
