Asks Readers Help to Find Her Backpack

By Haynal

To The Editor:
I don’t really know where to turn, so I decided to write to the Herald.
A black leather backpack containing four baseball mitts and some balls was stolen from the 21st Avenue beach on Wed., Aug. 11 between 6 and 7:30 p.m. In the 37 years I have been vacationing here, I have never had anything stolen from the beach.
If this happens to get printed, and your readers happen to have any information or have found it, please contact or return it to the North Wildwood Police Department on 10th and Atlantic where a report has been filed. Two of the four gloves are 20-plus years old and hold sentimental value. My only hope is that once the thief discovered no money or other valuables, they may have discarded the backpack where someone else may have found it. Any help readers can give me will be appreciated.
