To The Editor:
I read the letter from Sean Breslin from Wildwood last week. I feel sorry for him. The animal shelter in Court House should have taken the dog because he had no place to go with it.
If the Board of Health had given Animal Welfare on Route 47 their license back, the dog would still be alive. They have a lot of room and people like Sean would not have to put their animals to sleep, and they could still go and see them. I go there almost every week and the place is very clean.
Maybe the Herald could find out why the Board of Health will not give them their license back, and let the public know why. We need a “no kill” shelter. This is not the first time someone had to put their animal down because no shelter would take them. When you have a pet for a long time, it’s like someone in your family died.
Herald readers who are animal lovers, start writing to the Board of Health or call them and ask them why they will not give Animal Welfare on Route 47 their license back.
