America’s Self-Destruction

By Dynan

To the Editor:
America suffers from two, country-fatal conditions. The first is naivety. The second is political correctness fueled by false guilt; the favorite weapon of liberal and progressive politicians. We are our own, worst enemy.
Our naivety has led to America negotiating agreements with terrorists who had no intention of honoring them. Remember the promises broken by Palestinians during many American-led, peace negotiations? Most recently, the lying, agreement-breaking terrorist is Putin. After multiple negotiations and promises to the U.S. and Europe to withdraw troops, he recently announced that he has no intention of returning the Crimean Peninsula to Ukraine.
The most dangerous of these agreements is the in-progress, nuclear agreement with Iran. The Supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, is a dictator and a Muslim terrorist. He financially supports several terrorist organizations that have committed heinous crimes in the U.S. and 16 other nations. Terrorists do not honor agreements; they use them to their advantage to restrain other countries while doing what they want. Iran would continue to deceive as they did under U.N. agreements regarding nuclear issues. This agreement that Obama is trying to force on Americans must not happen. It will mean disaster for America and our friends.
This president and progressives use our political correctness flaw to instill guilt over the treatment of blacks in America. By immediately blaming the police in the rare instances of police-involved incidents without first learning the facts, they have severely worsened race relations. But, they ignore the fact that the main cause of death for over 90 percent of black men between the ages of 15 and 34 is murder by other blacks. Why the disparity? The former attracts media attention, but the latter does not and would require long, hard work to solve.
The politically correct demand that America solve other countries’ problems and help their citizens. The reality is we can’t. We aren’t able to solve problems in America nor help Americans in need. Here in the richest nation in the world, one in three children lives in poverty. UNICEF reports that of the 41 wealthiest nations, we are ranked 36th in this category. Today, America has 24.2 million children living without enough food, decent housing or other resources needed to grow into healthy, contributing American adults. Since 2008, the number of poor children increased by 1.7 million. In contrast, 18 countries reduced their childhood, poverty rates over that period.
This Administration has hurt our children since it took control. Now, Obama is issuing unconstitutional, executive orders that further hurt our children. Allowing young, illegal immigrants to stay in America and allowing other illegals to enter daily mean even fewer resources for America’s children.
Obama cares a great deal about his image and very little about Americans. There are no easy answers to America’s problems. But, boosting the economy and the resulting good, long-term jobs would be a strong beginning.
The pipeline Obama vetoed combined with a request to Congress to stop prohibiting America from selling oil outside the U.S. would help grow both our economy and American jobs, while reducing our dependence on countries who hate us.
Tell Congress that the safety, freedoms and well-being of Americans are primary, not the legacy of a failing president.
