Americans Experiencing Feelings of Angst

By Jennings

To The Editor:
Many Americans are experiencing feelings of angst and uneasiness concerning what is happening in our government today and where we are headed as a nation. There have been several terms used in an effort to describe the cause of these worries but the one that really says it best is a foreign occupying force.
The current administration is acting in that manner, forcing their programs and ideology on the majority of the people who have made it very clear that they don’t want them. Americans feel that they are not being governed by their own people but by an outside force. Do not make the mistake of thinking that Obama is acting alone — the progressive movement’s leaders are the architects and he is the delivery mechanism.
The progressives, who have been working in this country for over 100 years to defeat capitalism and totally transform our Republic, are moving at “a breathtaking speed,” as Obama recently said, to accomplish that goal. The people of this nation do not want to emulate Europe and go down the path to socialism.
Looking at Greece, we can see our future if we continue in that direction. The progressives know they can’t sell their ideas to a freedom-loving America if they are up-front with their agenda, so they mask their intentions with touchy-feely terms like social justice, social economics and eco-justice, all code words for redistribution of wealth.
It is our right and duty to end our silence and speak up in opposition to the attempt to destroy our great Republic, the most successful nation in history. We cannot be cowed and intimidated — particularly by the president who mocks and demeans anyone who disagrees with him. We must continue in our efforts to protest in a civil, non-violent way and to make our voices heard in the elections.
Please get out and vote in the upcoming primary elections on June 8 to be sure the candidates who reflect your values get on the ticket for the November election. If you share the beliefs of constitutionally limited government, fiscal responsibility and free market capitalism that the Tea Party movement espouses, please join us in our next workshop on May 26 at 7 p.m. at Xenia Catering House in Woodland Village, 1943 Rte. 9, Clermont.
