To the Editor:
In December, thousands of concerned New Jersey residents arrived at the State House with their children, in attempt to make their voices heard.
They lined the halls of the building, the State House was filled to maximum capacity and the doors were closed. Families surrounded the state building and their voices penetrated the Senate chamber walls. People of all different faiths gathered together in prayer.
The weather was bitter cold, but this did not deter anyone from the 12+ hour day of fighting for their religious rights. Voices could be heard chanting “We will not comply” and “In God we trust” among other things, while inside the Senate chambers Sen. Vitale could be seen trying hard to convince certain legislators into swaying their vote in favor of the bill.
Those opposing the bill stood firm and the bill was pulled that day, but the victory may only be temporary. The Senate president made a public statement that day vowing that this bill “Will get done.”
S2173 is expected to be up again for a vote before the end of this Legislative session Jan 14, with voting dates possible for Jan. 9 or 13. That day the people spoke loud and clear but were not heard.
At the Senate Health Committee meeting just days before, the intent to get this bill “done” was quite evident as Senate President Steve Sweeney replaced probable “no” voting senators with those who would surely vote “yes.” Again that day the State House was packed with concerned constituents and the committee hearing room was packed, with hundreds of testimonies submitted.
But those who replaced the “no” voting senators came and left their yes votes and left, without hearing one word of the testimony.
The bill passed the Senate Health Committee that day and it was evident that this was not about the voice of the people. This was about something so much bigger.
Since that day thousands of constituents from around the state have made in-person visits to their legislative offices asking for meetings, have emailed, faxed and made phone calls.
Some meetings have been granted for which we are grateful while others refuse to meet with their constituents.
Not one news outlet covered any of the above over the last month. Censorship is at an all-time high. The news is bought and sponsored by pharmaceutical companies.
How sad that something of this magnitude is happening in New Jersey and there is zero coverage of it.
How sad that religious freedom is under attack, paving the way for hate crimes and health crimes.
Health crimes that will be directly inflicted by a mandatory vaccination program with no way to opt out.
How sad that our nation was founded on the principle of “in God we trust” and yet the government is intent on gross overreach that will segregate and discriminate upon those who do just that.
Our Constitution is under attack and this should be in every single newspaper and on every single news channel until the corruption is exposed and the people’s voices are heard.
Cape May County – I’d like to suggest to the Herald that they leverage spout offs draw and replace some of the ads for their paper with a few paid ads that you probably can charge a little extra for. Lots of people…
