The Ocean City Repertory Theater will present the children’s classic, The Secret Garden, by Frances Burnett, from Aug. 5-10 at 6 p.m., at the OC Repertory Theater, 813 Asbury Ave. Tickets are $5.
The program is recommended for ages eight and up. Among the ensemble cast of actors are Ocean City residents Shannon DeCostas, Kira Friedel, William Gide, and Courtney Sadler.
The Ocean City Repertory Theater is also sponsoring a series of summer camps for preschool- ages 3, 4, and 5; primary- ages 6-8; junior- ages 9-12; and senior- ages 13-18. The camps take place during the month of August at the Repertory Theater.

Brush up on Bennett’s artwork – Stroll through the South Gallery of Peter McPhee Fine Arts, 9416 Second Ave. in Stone Harbor, to canvass the artwork of Greg Bennett of Strathmere. An opening reception will take place there on Sat., Aug. 7, from 7-10 p.m. The exhibit will continue through Sept. 1.
Bennett came with his family to Strathmere in 1968, has lived there permanently since 1989, and the town and communities that surround it, have inspired many of his paintings. His works are included in many public and private art collections.

The tables will be set for the pancake breakfast on Sun., Aug. 8, from 8 a.m.-noon at the Masonic Hall, 10th and Wesley Ave. in Ocean City, sponsored by American Legion Morvay-Miley Post 524.
The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea, milk, and juice, at a cost of $5 for adults and $3 for children. The breakfast will benefit veterans’ projects.

101st celebration – Ocean City’s 101st Baby Parade, the longest running in the world, will toddle off on the Ocean City Boardwalk from Sixth to 12th streets on Thurs., Aug. 12, at 10:15 a.m. To enter, register at the Music Pier Information Center, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, or call City Hall Annex, 609-525-9300. Make plans now for the Strathmere Ocean Kayak Festival at the Williams Ave. beach on Saturday, Aug. 14, starting at 10:30 a.m. Spectators, beginners, and competitors alike are invited to the event.
The race entry fee is $20 which includes a t-shirt. Admission to the event is free, and all equipment will be supplied free for both the instruction sessions and races. There will also be a silent auction, awards ceremony, and post-race party immediately following.
A new addition this year will be demon-strations and instruction for stand-up paddle boards supplied by Harbor Outfitters.
