Battle of the Bands – Catch the beat at this year’s competition to be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, at the Music Pier on the Ocean City Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace. The lineup of bands competing, which includes some of the hottest bands in the Philadelphia and South Jersey areas, are PBL, Three Draw, Band of Ghosts, and Andrew Jude. Two additional bands will also be in the competition.
Proceeds from this event support community art and out-reach programs sponsored by the Ocean City Fine Arts League.

Don’t miss the boat – Sign up now for the Strathmere Fishing and Environmental Club’s Coast Guard Auxiliary Boating Safety Course to be held on Saturday, April 17, at the Strathmere Fire House on Commonwealth Ave.
The class, which is open to the public, begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. The cost is $50 per person. A concise course text will be provided. Successful completion leads to NJ state certification. The registration fee covers all expenses, including state registration.
In New Jersey, you must be 16 years of age in order to operate a power boat. The NJ state certification is required of all powerboat operators, regardless of age. Rental boats of less than 10 hp are exempt from this requirement.
All persons operating a jet ski or other Personal Water Craft (PWC) are required to take this course.

Doo-Dah, Doo Dah – Ocean City’s 25th annual Doo Dah Parade will take place on April 17, at noon, starting at Sixth and Asbury Ave. and ending on the Boardwalk at the Music Pier. The parade features a Basset Hound Waddle, humorous brigades and individuals, bands, clowns, impersonators of legendary comedians, and Pieasco.
Entry in the parade is free. All participants will receive an “I Was a Hotdog for a Day” 25th anniversary tee shirt and a hotdog lunch.
