Ocean City/Upper Township Rotary Club News – At a recent meeting of the Rotary, Club President Cheryl McDonough displayed a certificate given by the County Freeholders, which recognized the Rotary for its contribution to the Richard M. Cameron Wildlife Sanctuary, located at Cape May County Park North on Route 9 in Palermo.
A new foot bridge and trail, recently opened at the park, were the results of combined efforts among Cape May County, the Ocean City/Upper Township Rotary, and a boy scout from a local troop.
The Rotary, a volunteer organization which raises money for projects in the community, meets Mondays at noon at the Tuckahoe Inn.
“It’s the best of times” for runners/walkers – The Trail of Two Cities Race/Walk over the Ninth Street Bridge from Ocean City to Somers Point is set to take off on Sat., Nov. 6, at 8 a.m. Complete information and official entry forms may be picked up at City Hall Annex, 901 Asbury Ave., Ocean City. Call 609-525-9300. Forms can also be downloaded at www.ocnj.us.
Under Recreation, click on Recreation Special Events. Then under Race Events, you will see Trail of Two Cities.

Latest library listings – The following two new events are scheduled for the Cape May County Main Library, 30 Mechanic St., Court House. For more information about these programs, call 609-463-6350 or visit www.cmclibrary.org.
WWII Exhibit – “German POW’s in U.S., 1943-46” – This traveling exhibit will make a stop on Sat., Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Library. During WWII, about 372,000 German POW’s were held in about 600 prisoners of war camps across the United States operated by the U.S. Army.
This exhibit, which is housed in a bus made into a mobile museum, is made available by TRACES, a non-profit educational organization which was created to gather, preserve, and present stories of people from the Midwest and Germany who encountered each other during the war.
Harry Potter Party – Children, ages 6 to 12, are invited to attend “A Day at Hogwarts” party at 2 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 6, when the lower level of the library will be transformed into the “Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,” for fun with some favorite Hogwarts professors. Kids are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Harry Potter characters. Light refreshments will be served.

Ready, set, go – to the Wedding Planning Expo – Plan your entire wedding at the Jersey Shore’s Ultimate Wedding Planning Expo, which will feature 60 wedding professionals. The event takes place at the Music Pier on the Ocean City Boardwalk on Sun., Nov. 7.
The doors will open at 1 p.m., and the fashion show will start at 2:30 p.m. Register today to be eligible for additional door prizes at www.bridalshowsnj.com. The Music Pier is located at Moorlyn Terrace on the Boardwalk.
