Fri., Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. – The Main Library will host an evening of jazz music featuring the Barry Miles Trio. Miles, world-famous Grammy winner, was Roberta Flack’s music director for approximately 15 years. He played with almost all of the jazz greats of the past two decades and has played on dozens of classic jazz albums.
The Trio consists of Miles, who plays the keyboard; Bob Shomo, one of the premier jazz drummers in South Jersey; and Tim Lekan on bass, who toured the country playing electric bass in R&B bands. For more information, call 609-463-6350.
Monday, Nov. 22, through Fri., Dec. 10, the Upper Branch of the Cape May County Library, in addition to all of the other branches, will be collecting new children’s books for Caring for Kids of Cape May County. The library will be accepting donations of board books, picture books, and chapter books.
Caring for Kids offers in-home assistance for parents, classes for parents, and programs focusing on helping parents enhance their ability to care for children.

Musical Mondays – The Ocean City Repertory Theater will be hosting a cabaret series starting Mon., Nov. 22, at 7 p.m., with Andrew Hink on the piano, along with guest vocalists. The series will feature a combination of music from blues, jazz, pop, Tin Pan Alley, and Hollywood. Performances will be held every Monday through Dec. 20, at the Repertory’s Theater, 813 Asbury Ave.

Let’s talk turkey trot – Register now for The Fast and The Furriest Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1M Fun Run to be held on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 25. Registration begins at 7 a.m. at the Ocean City Music Pier, Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk. The Run/Walk will start at 8:30 a.m., with the kids’ race to follow.
Register before Nov. 21 for a pre-entry fee of $25. Those who pre-register will be guaranteed t-shirts. The fee will be $30 the day of the event. Race-day registrants will be given t-shirts while supplies last. All proceeds from the Run/Walk will benefit the Ocean City Police Department’s K-9 Unit and the Humane Society of Ocean City.
