I have always resonated with songs about flying! When Ol’ Blue Eyes sang “Come Fly with Me,” I was all ready to board the next plane. When Peter Pan was tossing around pixie dust, I wanted to take a shower in it.
Right around the same time I was falling head over heels in love with my wife Terri, Joey Scarbury was crooning on the radio lyrics that chimed, “Believe it or not- I’m walking on air- flying away on a wing and prayer!”
Even I wondered “Who could that be?” Well, believe it or not- it was me.
The Boss might have been “Born to Run,” but Pastor Rudy was destined to fly! I do believe that I can fly and I want to fly like an eagle way beyond the sea, and let go of my fears and allow my dreams to carry me.
Somebody put this stirring in my soul to not be content to be earthbound. And I believe that the wiring for the heights was authored by the very Designer of dreams Himself, that created within us the yearning to be the ultimate free bird.
So if I may, I would like to share with you some words of inspiration that might be the very fuel to help launch you to soar higher than you ever thought before.
Born to Fly

The sun is slowly rising on another kind of day…
And I’m not really sure what is about to come my way…
But with this early morning, a new hope shines on in me…
And burns away the fog of fear that would not want me to see!
All those dreams- that my God has for me…
And all that love- it is pure reality…
And oh those chains- that would try to hold me fast…
He broke away- and gave me life that’s going to last…
So you can walk if you want to but I was born to fly…
Jesus is leading me and I’m willing to try…
This is more than a pipe dream or an uninvited whim…
I want to live my life- soaring high with Him!
The time is quickly passing, on these not so many days…
And Lord I find that I’m changing, in so many different ways…
But with the future knocking, it’s much closer than before…
I won’t let the unknown stop me, because I know who’s opened the door!
