“On every question of construction, carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed.”
—Thomas Jefferson to William Johnson, 1823
There is no other nation in modern history with a constitution structured around the premise that a person’s rights are unalienable because they come from God and not from government.
On this eternal principle, America prospered like no other nation on the face of the earth. We became a light on a hill radiating strength, peace, prosperity, health, hope, and countless, miraculous technological advances to the far reaches of an oppressed world.
We, of the Constitution Party, lament that our heritage is ignored not so much by the working people (whose lives are consumed with keeping food on the table and gas in the car), but by elected leaders of both dominant parties who swear a solemn oath to uphold our sacred U.S. Constitution and then demonstrate contempt by ignoring its limitations to their authority as well as the responsibilities it demands of them.
All of the following critical issues, which are tearing apart the social fabric of America, endangering our national security, and bankrupting the American people, can be resolved quickly if only our nation will return to the timeless principles of freedom and prosperity spelled out in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution:
• We have troops in 130 nations with no Declaration of War as required by the Constitution.
• There is nothing in the Constitution authorizing the Federal government to bailout banks, take over healthcare or the auto industry.
• The Constitution requires our Federal government to protect the states against invasion – 18 to 20 million illegal intruders constitute an invasion.
• The Constitution empowers the president to call up the military, pending a Declaration of War by Congress, to repel an invasion. The president at any time could, if so inclined, bring our troops home to secure our own borders.
• There is no constitutional authorization to be giving the fruits of labor of the American people away as foreign aid nor for America to be borrowing from China further indebting the American people to give it away.
• Rising prices are not the cause but the result of the falling value of the dollar which is no longer backed by gold and silver as required by the Constitution, but rather by debt placed un-constitutionally on the American people and their progeny. (Federal Reserve note)
• Congress is authorized by the Constitution to limit the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court thereby putting the issue of abortion to the people of each state to decide.
• There is no constitutional authorization for either the President or the Congress to be surrendering our independence through a merger of America, Mexico and Canada into a North American Union (NAU).
This last item, which has remained hidden from the vast majority of the American people, is the most threatening to our survival as an independent constitutional-Republic. (State legislators, however, have become aware of this imminent danger and thus far, resolutions opposing a NAU have been introduced in 23 states nation-wide. Regrettably, New Jersey is not yet one of them.)
In commemoration of our Independence Day, July 4, please accept my gift of a pocket-size Constitution. Read for yourself how our government should be run. Let us pass on this wonderful legacy to our children and grandchildren in the years to come. Just send us an email to peter@BoyceYourChoice.com or call 609-501-3351.
