FEMA assistance – The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center located at the Main Library is available daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents and business owners who sustained damage in Cape May County during the storm, may apply for FEMA assistance. The Center is set up in the Storytime room of the Main Library. You may also register by visiting www.disasterassistance.gov or calling 1-800-621-3362 or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY). The phone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Sunday through Saturday until further notice. First Annual Community Night takes place in Upper Township tonight – A reminder that this free event, hosted by the Upper Township Business Association, will be held tonight, Nov. 14, at the Primary School gym, located at 130 N. Old Tuckahoe Road in Marmora, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come out and get acquainted with members of Upper Township businesses, services, community groups, sports, and social groups. Various health screenings will be done by Shore Medical Center, Sooy Fitness will do a zumba demonstration, the South Shore Stitchers will be there with their quilt raffle, and Dollard’s Sewing Center will have demonstrations. Masterworks Choir of Ocean City will be presenting a concert on Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church located at 501 E. Eighth Street. The Choir will be performing Josef Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass with a full orchestra. There is no admission charge; a free will offering will be taken at the concert.
John Bate has been the music director, organist, and conductor of the Masterworks Choir of Ocean City for the past 25 years. At the church, he leads a program that includes four singing choirs and four hand bell choirs. The Masterworks Choir is composed of 50 volunteer singers and professional soloists who come from Cape May and Atlantic Counties.

Update on OC event – The Trail of Two Cities 5K Run/Walk over the 9th St. Bridge is set for Nov. 17, starting at 8 a.m. Registration will take place at 7 a.m. at the Ocean City Transportation Center, 9th and Haven Ave. For further information, call 609-525-9300.

Cape May County Library event – Come out and dance to Ragtime, Dixieland, Swing, and Country music from the 20s, 30s, and 40s. The Chowder II Band will play the tunes, and AARP will provide the refreshments. This social event takes place at the Sea Isle City Branch Library from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 17. The Library is located at 4800 Central Ave., phone 609-263-7301.
