Paint the town purple with the March of Dimes – The South Jersey Shore Division of the March of Dimes is asking residents and businesses of Atlantic and Cape May Counties to help them spread the word of premature births by wearing something purple on Thur., Nov. 17, for World Prematurity Day.
This day was started by the March of Dimes and its global partners to honor the million babies, worldwide, who died this year because they were born too soon, and the 12 million more who struggle to survive. “Earlier than the Bird” is preferred – Make headway with your holiday shopping in downtown Ocean City at the Shopping Extravaganza which takes place Sat., Nov. 19, from 7 a.m. to noon. You can shop in your pajamas on Asbury Ave., where there will be free coffee, giveaways, and early-bird shopping specials. Free turkeys will be given to those in the best PJs. Holiday Celebration of Fine Crafts – This event, presented by the Jersey Shore Artisans Guild, will take place at the Music Pier on the Ocean City Boardwalk, on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19 and 20. It will be time well spent, learning furniture arrangement – Drive a little, but learn a lot, at the Lower Cape Library in Villas at 2600 Bayshore Road. The presentation takes place on Sat., Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Valerie Driscoll, interior designer and owner of Three Grace Interiors, who believes that “anyone can have a beautifully decorated home no matter what the budget,” will present the program.
Learn how to design the perfect furniture layout in any room without heavy lifting. The discussion will include computer and pencil and paper methods for space planning, with hands-on work using the ideas presented in class. The event is free; however, registration is required.
