What are you pushing towards these days with the very best of what you have to offer? What are you running after with all of your energy and might? What are the dreams and desires that have been driving your heart these days? What is your favorite fuel that you depend upon to shoot adrenaline into your very soul? Are you attacking your days with your eyes wide open or daydreaming about great things in the middle of another boring afternoon?
I have learned by experience that if I want to taste a regular diet of God’s daily fresh bread being served piping hot out of heaven’s oven, I must not be afraid to live by God’s promises even if it means to go against the flow and ignore man’s reservations. Too often I hear a call from above exhorting me to believe and pursue and go after life’s challenges leaving nothing unused left in the tank.
At the very same time, the words from the earthly crowds seem to attempt to deflate and discourage and deter my dangerous deeds rather than pump me up to rise above the normal measure of mediocrity that way too many are settling for? Poor eyes may limit your sight- but poor vision paralyzes your soul! In what state are you finding your union in today?
A personal and positive decision for God’s vision provides the whole essence of being able to genuinely living in the midst of vital victories rather than being sidelined by nagging defeats. The reason we are alive is to fulfill the plans and purposes that our Creator designed with us in His mind to do through our lives.
No man has ever really tasted the glory of God without first catching the giganticness of His will and what He longs to accomplish using you and me! But divine vision must drive finite ambition and not visa versa or else we will be sabotaged by or selfish egos and errors.
What I am trying to say simply is that miracles begin to happen all around you even when life may not make perfect sense, but childlike faith surely does. God sees and knows what I in no way can even imagine so why would I limit Him by my own finite ability?
When was the last time that you actually waited on God for an answer to a situation that you might not have totally understood, but you knew that there was something holy happening all around you? Not all issues can be neatly wrapped up and explained this side of heaven. I must be willing to be open to God for things that I can’t close in my own strength.
This is why I write this weekly column. When God blesses a human being, His blessings always spill over. I am here to write what God is doing down so that His doings may be preserved. I am here to make sure that the Lord’s activity gets fresh pen and paper so that God’s workings may be publicized.
I wish that we would all be “heralds” of God’s good tidings. But in order to have something lasting to share, we must take the time to read God’s writings on the walls of our hearts before we run off and have something significant to shout about.
If you choose to not hurry in God’s presence when He is longing to get our attention, we won’t worry when it appears like God is absent because we will know better. And that is the result of investing the proper time to know what this life is all about and learning to see His hand in it all no matter whatever.
The key to having a personal walk with God is that it takes faith for His kids to live. God expects us to blossom and bloom no matter where we have been planted. God expects His people to sparkle like diamonds even in a pile of soot. God doesn’t give you permission to pass out just because of the spot that you have been purposely placed.
Is where you are today becoming a holy place where the Lord is preparing to do something wonderful in you and through you? It should be! And we have no time to waste a moment. Those of us who make a clear and committed decision for His vision and wait on God and look up to Him daily will never stop progressing and moving forward.
In contrast, those who make it their goal to just get drunk on their own self driven ego serving desires will hit a very dead end. It makes all the difference of whether the soundtrack of your days is a dingy dirge or a hymn of hope. What song is your soul singing today?
And it doesn’t come down to chance, but a very personal choice. Do you want to be god? Do you want to please and obey God? We never have positive results when we try to make major choices amidst an unpleasant present. Maybe today is the day to stop looking in the mirror for your answers and try looking up and out at the hugeness of the Creator and the wonders that He has done.
If He has done such a majestic work with all that you see around you, just imagine what He wants to do in you? If you stand still and get a good glimpse of God, maybe your whining will turn to worship and your dirges will culminate in a doxology that sings of the wonders that this life is truly filled with. Leave the blues to those who have no hope, for the just will live and know all the colors of the rainbow of faith, given to us to assure us that God’s promises are true and those who trust Him are forever alive.
