From the Ocean City Police Department

OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City Police Department and the Ocean City Ecumenical Council Food Cupboard are seeking donations of food and supplies on Sunday, Oct. 8 as part of a nationwide program called “Faith and Blue Weekend.”

Faith and Blue is an organization whose goal is to connect law enforcement agencies and local faith-based communities. Faith and Blue Weekend is being celebrated nationwide from October 6 to 9. This is the second year that Ocean City is participating in the event. All participating departments across the country are doing different events unique to their community.

The Ocean City “Food and Goods Drive” will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, with police vehicles stationed in front of the ACME supermarkets at both 800 West Avenue and 3428 Simpson Avenue. The Ecumenical Food Cupboard serves all in need in Ocean City. Requested donations include baby-related items (formula, diapers, etc.), male and female hygiene products (deodorant, detergent, soap) and canned food items.
