Woodbine 4.12.2006

By Rick Racela

School Board elections and budget vote will be held April 18 from 5-9 p.m.
Voting will be at your usual voting place: either the Ambulance Corps Building or the Firehouse.
Competing for two three-year positions on the Board are Steven Cooper, Lisa Feliciano, Howard Harris, Geddzaida Ruiz, and Miriam Vives-Rivera.
Show your interest in the future of our children, and vote.
Dismissal at WES tomorrow will be at 1:25 p.m. as Spring Recess begins.
The school will be closed through April 21, and will be reopening on April 22.
Bunnies will be hopping in Woodbine soon it seems.
Woodbine Recreation Commission is holding an Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday here in Woodbine’s Lincoln Park from 1-3 p.m.
Children up to age 13 are invited to participate.
Children six and under should be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.
We don’t want those bunnies running off with any of our tots or early schoolers.
There will be prizes and refreshments.
Come and have a springing good time.
(And please contact me with any Bunny sightings.)
Lincoln Park will also be the setting on April 29 for the Opening Day of the Cape May County Little League season. More next column.
First Baptist Church of Woodbine proudly announces their Celebration of the Resurrection of Christ.
Celebration will take place on Easter Sunday, April 16, at the Wildwood Convention Center with Pastor Thomas Dawson, Jr. leading this magnificent event with his powerful preaching.
Doors open at 9 a.m., with Praise and Worship beginning at 10 a.m. Program will include anointed singing and dynamic praise dancing.
Seating for over 500 and a nursery room will be provided.
For further information, call the church at 861-2847.

If we don’t make it up and to the monastery this year, Mom, I promise to get enough blessed food down here to share with you whenever we do get up to Monmouth County.
There is a set of Buddhist Prayer Flags at our house waiting to hang out when Grandson Sawyer makes his first visit to Woodbine.
He and Bubba Bud can meet the March Hare in the maternal-grandparent living room, along with Little Cat’s Bunny and more stuffed toys than any adult should have on the back of her couch, lurking.
Blessing of this Paschal Season to all, whatever you believe, and whatever you celebrate.
As “the greene blade riseth” once again, we can all celebrate new life, hope for the future, and await a rebirth of wonder.
