WILDWOOD CREST — An Erie Pa. woman who was reported missing from her home in late May of this year has been located on the beach.
According to a police report, on Wed., Aug. 10, members of the beach patrol came in contact with a female who appeared to be disoriented. Police were contacted and Special Officer Dillon Vanaman responded to the call. The woman was taken to police headquarters where she was identified as 61-year-old Maureen Birmingham. An investigation led to police to discovering that Birmingham had been missing from her family in Erie, Pa. for over two months.
Birmingham was disoriented and told police that she had been living on the beach. Her family was contacted and confirmed that they had been searching for her since May, 2011.
Birmingham was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for further medical evaluation by the Wildwood Crest Rescue Squad.
