Wetlands turtles will travel

By On Deck Staff

The staff at the Wetlands Institute has turtles and some pretty neat sea creatures as well and they’re ready to show up on your door step for a themed birthday party your child and friends will long remember.
Discover the world of water animals including sea stars, sea urchins, hermit crabs, green crabs, spider crabs, snails, clams, and the always popular horseshoe crab with Sea Creatures with Amazing Features party.
The Institute’s educators will share their little animals with partygoers as they use their senses and imagination to discover more about these creatures with some hands-on experience.
The Traveling Turtles party is great fun for kids of all ages, providing a chance for the birthday child and friends to investigate a variety of turtles, their anatomy, natural history, behaviors, adaptations and life cycles as well as learn about the Diamondback Terrapin Conservation Project at the Wetlands Institute.
The program includes live adult terrapins and some hatchlings; although the children don’t touch the live turtles, there are plenty of other turtle teaching tools to touch and pickup.
Each party includes a sea animal or turtle-themed gift bag for the birthday child with some great stuff in it. Party favor bags for guests are available at an extra charge.
The cost is $250, plus level of turtle adoption for the Traveling Turtles theme. For details and more information call 609-368-1211.
