The National Weather Service In Mount Holly has extended the Flood Warning until 6:30 a.m., Thursday. A Coastal Flood Advisory is also in effect from 7 pm to 11 pm this evening.
Flooding continued in the region as a result of the heavy rain that fell from Sunday night into Tuesday. Many rivers and creeks remain high or out of their banks. While some small streams and creeks should return to their banks overnight others will not. Basement flooding is going to continue to be a problem because of the high water table, according to the National Weather Service.
Flooding is expected to continue along the Maurice River in Cumberland county.
