UPDATE: County Reports Stormy Weather for Weekend

UPDATE: Late in the afternoon of Oct. 17, the Cape May County Communications Office reported that Route 147 in Cape May County is open. Reports that it was closed today are incorrect.
Also, the 50’s weekend in the Wildwoods is still taking place.
EARLIER: As of 7:45 a.m. Oct. 17, George Redding Bridge into Wildwood and Townsend Inlet Bridge from Sea Isle City to Avalon were closed due to flooding, according to the county Communications Office.

BARRIER ISLAND COMMUNITIES SHOULD KNOW THE STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO PARALLEL VERY NEAR THE COAST
WAVES THAT WILL BE CREATED BY WINDS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE CALCULATIONS
RAINFALL OF 1”-2” PER 24 HOUR PERIOD IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CALCULATIONS
THE WATER WILL PILE IN THE NORTHERN ENDS OF THE GREAT EGG INLET, CORSONS INLET, TOWNSENDS INLET AND THE HEREFORD INLET; AND, THE SOUTHERN ENDS OF THE BARRIER ISLANDS WILL HAVE WATER PILING UP OVER THE TIDES OF CONCERNS AND WILL BE SLOW TO DRAIN.
