Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect Until 8 PM

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch which is in effect until 8 PM.
Late Afternoon: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and frequent lightning. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 96. Heat index values as high as 100. West southwest wind around 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and frequent lightning. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southwest wind at 11 mph becoming north northwest. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
