NORTH WILDWOOD – Mayor Patrick Rosenello and the Emergency Management Committee of the City of North Wildwood would like to advise residents and visitors of the potential for moderate coastal flooding March 14 as a result of a nor’easter.
According to a release, ‘moderate flooding’ means that water will encompass Delaware – New York avenues up to New Jersey Avenue (tidal surge will be in the upper 7 to 8 foot above MLLW [mean lower low water] range).
High tides for March 14 are as follows: 10:02 a.m. and 10:28 p.m.

  • Moderate Flooding Expected

With the potential for high winds, residents and visitors are reminded to secure all properties and belongings including lawn chairs, umbrellas and trashcans. Also forecasted is the potential for significant precipitation in the form of rain/wintry mix/snow, which due to slow runoff, may cause extended and localized flooding in areas that do not normally experience tidal flooding. Residents and visitors are advised to never drive down a flooded roadway.
The City of North Wildwood does not anticipate opening an emergency shelter at this time, but please stay updated by visiting ready.northwildwood.com for the most recent storm related information.
“Our emergency management, public works and first responders are doing their due diligence to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents before tomorrow’s anticipated storm event, as we pray for the best, but are prepared for the worst,” stated Rosenello. “Please stay up to date by visiting the City’s various social media accounts and our OEM website: ready.northwildwood.com.”
