COURT HOUSE – National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory, which will be in effect from 6 p.m. Feb. 13 until 9 a.m. Feb. 14.
Wind chill will be 10 to 20 degrees below zero.
Wind chills will begin to drop to dangerous levels through today with the coldest values between midnight and sunrise Sunday. Wind chills will slowly ease by late Sunday morning.
Wind chill values will reach dangerous levels. The very low wind chills have the potential to result in hypothermia if care is not taken to stay warm and sheltered.
A wind chill advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frostbite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
National Weather Service has also issued a wind advisory, which will be in effect from 6 a.m. Feb. 13 until 6 p.m. Feb. 13.
Northwest winds will gust 25 to 35 mph with scattered gusts up to 45 to 50 mph.
Winds will increase behind an arctic cold front this morning and continue through the afternoon.
A possibility of a few broken tree limbs and associated power outages are possible. Driving will be difficult at times, especially for high profile vehicles.
A wind advisory means that very windy conditions are expected. Use extra caution. Light-weight outdoor objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be secured.
