Plan ahead to stay safe:
1. Keep gas meter visible and surrounding area clear of snow, ice or debris
2. If the gas meter is flooded, call South Jersey Gas to have it inspected
3. Smell gas? Leave the area immediately (do not operate switches, phones or electronic devices), call 911 and the South Jersey Gas Leak Hotline 1.800.582.7060
4. Call 811 before you dig (debris removal, planting, etc.)
5. Check South Jersey Gas social media sites for latest information
6. Have a family emergency plan in place including emergency kit supplies (water, food, medications, money, flashlights, etc.)
7. Evacuate if told to do so
8. Review the Be Ready Guide and keep it handy
