* Lower Township Release:
Police Chief, Edward Donohue in cooperation with Mayor Mike Beck, and the Lower Township Office of Emergency Management is advising Lower Township residents if they have not done so already, to ensure that they have several days supply of food and water on hand in their homes, as the region prepares for a major winter storm that is forecast
to affect Cape May County with heavy snow, high winds and blowing and drifting snow, which could make travel by car nearly impossible during the storm.
The Lower Township Police Department is urging all none essential vehicles to stay off the roadways during the storm.
In the event of a power outage or medical needs effecting residents, if you absolutely must leave your home during the storm, please call the Lower Township Police Department Communications Center at 886-2711 and transportation will be arranged for residents to a designated shelter within Lower Township.
Any essential employees, such as nurses and doctors who may be stranded during the storm and need transportation to their place of employment, may also call the Lower Township Police Department at 886-2711 to arrange for transportation to their emergency facilities.
Residents should have food, water, blankets and batteries for radios and flashlights available before the weather begins to deteriorate.
