Heavy Power Demand Leads to Scattered Outages

Record setting temperatures led to heavy demand for power over the weekend. At 7 p.m., on Saturday scattered power outages throughout the county were reported due to overheating equipment and blown fuses, according to Atlantic City Electric spokeswoman Bridget Shelton.
At the hight of the outage 6,000 customers were without power Shelton said.
As of 2 p.m., Sunday 683 customers remain without power. Shelton said crews are working to restore power however customers should prepare to be without power for the remainder of the day and into this evening.
