Heat Wave For Rest Of The Week; Heat Index In The 100’s

The summer continues to sizzle, with daily temperatures in the 90s. According to meteorologists at the National Weather Service, The rest of the week ahead will remain hot, with heat index temperatures in the low 100s.
The National Weather Service in MT. Holly has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Cape May County.
A few thunderstorms may produce gusty winds,heavy rain and hail Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday evening. Heat Index values may approach 100 degrees Wednesday afternoon.
Heat index values could approach 100 degrees Friday afternoon and may approach 105 degrees on Saturday.
In order to avoid an unwanted trip to the hospital, be sure to drink plenty of fluids and avoid strenuous outdoor activities over the next few days.
Children and the elderly are especially susceptible to developing heat-related illnesses and should be checked on often. Remember to never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle even for a short period of time.

Today: Scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. Heat index values as high as 101. West wind between 6 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 2am, then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. West wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 92. West wind between 8 and 10 mph.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. Southwest wind between 6 and 8 mph.
Friday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 97. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 78.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 96.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 77.
Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 90. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 71.
