MT HOLLY– The National Weather Service reports, strong to possibly severe thunderstorms are possible this evening and tonight. Gusty winds with the possibility of small hail and torrential rains may occur as a result of the storms. An enhanced threat for rapid fire growth with continue today as fuel moistures remain dry and a strong southerly wind forms. However, an increase in surface dew points may prohibit relative humidities from dropping below red flag criteria.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11pm. Low around 55. South wind between 11 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday: A chance of showers before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. West wind between 14 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
