COURT HOUSE – Cape May County’s Emergency Management Communications Center issued an alert Sept. 1 regarding Tropical Storm Hermine.
According to the alert, “Tropical Storm Hermine is expected to strengthen and make landfall as a hurricane in northwest Florida early Friday. The remnants of Hermine are then expected to move northeast toward the mid-Atlantic region through the weekend. Based on the current track forecast from the National Hurricane Center, it appears areas closer to the New Jersey and Delaware coasts will bear the brunt of this storm in terms of heavy rain … gusty winds … and tidal flooding. However … rain and winds could occur throughout much of the Mount Holly CWA this weekend depending on the eventual path and strength of this system.”
