Washington Street Mall gets rededicated

The celebration rededicating the renovated Washington Street Mall will be on June 21.
The following is a timeline for the rededication, presented by the City of Cape May and the Washington Street Mall Merchants Association.
The theme is “Welcome Home Again.”
It all takes place at the 500 block of the Washington Street Mall, near Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, in front of the bell.
Here’s the schedule
9:30-10 a.m.
Singing by the Cape Harmonaires Barbershop Chorus
9:45 a.m.
Arrival by horse and carriage (provided by Cape May Carriage Company, owner Beverly Carr) of Mayor Jerome Inderwies, former Mayor Frank Gauvry, City Manager Luciano Corea, Washington Street Mall Merchants Association President Steve Protasi, George Washington, portrayed by Lee O’Connor of East Lynne Theatre Company.
10 a.m.
The Harmonaires will sing the Star Spangled Banner and there will be a dove release provided by Beverly Carr of Cape May Carriage Company.
Program:
M.C. Bill Huff of 98.7 The Coast radio station will introduce the guests and begin the program after the ribbon cutting by Steve Protasi, Luciano Corea, Mayor Inderwies, former Mayor Frank Gauvry
10:30- 11 a.m.
The dedication of the plaque and music by the Cape Harmonaires
1-3 p.m.
There will be activities and entertainment throughout the day in each block.
4 p.m.
Rotary Park (Lyle Lane behind the mall) Dancing Under the Stars, M.C. John Alvarez, columnist for the Cape May Star & Wave
4-6 p.m.
Music by the Al Raymond Orchestra
6-7 p.m.
Acoustic guitar by Charlie Phillips
7-10 p.m.
Music by Bluebone
