Today is my parents’ wedding anniversary, tomorrow is my birthday, and this weekend is that lovely winter-long weekend honoring those wonderful, long gone Presidents.
This week always means fun in my family, whether it’s just a couple of special celebratory meals or a full-blown winter vacation.
This year, there’s no vacation planned, but that’s fine by me.
I’ll gladly share some cake this weekend when I head to north Jersey to see my family, and maybe mom will take me shopping.
That’s really all I need to commemorate my favorite week.
This time of year also means it’s time to think about spring sports.
You can register your children, ages six through 14, for in-line hockey on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Middle School Library.
Fees are $50 for one player, $75 for two and $100 for three or more.

You can sign up girls in grades one through eight for softball at one of the free skill clinics hosted at the Community Center from 6:15 to 8 p.m.
Bring along a glove, bat, and sneakers.
If it’s your first time signing up, bring a copy of their birth certificate, too.
Fees are $20 for one player, $35 for two players or $45 for three players.
Call the Recreation Department for information about other sports sign-ups at 628-3343.

Don’t forget to bring your little ones to story time at the Upper Branch Library.
Every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. children are invited to join the group.
They’ll surely cultivate a love of books while developing good listening skills.
Call 628-2607 if you have any questions.

Lower Township – Who are these people that are obvious experts on trash cans and leaf pick-up? Maybe they don't have any trash to put out or leaves in their yard!!
