WOODBINE – Two men were arrested and charged in an alleged car break-in spree that lasted almost five months and occurred in two counties.
According to Sgt. Adam Grossman of State Police, Vincent Larcombe, 25, of Vineland and Christopher Mander, 23, of Upper Township, were arrested Nov. 17 and charged with “numerous burglaries of cars that occurred in Cape May and Atlantic counties.”
Grossman said the car burglaries began in June.
“They were kind of a team,” said Grossman, when asked if the two men worked together in the car burglaries.
“The vehicles were normally unlocked,” said Grossman. “They would take small electronics, currency and things like that.”
Sometimes they did force their way into the vehicles.
“They were interviewed at Woodbine Barracks,” said Grossman, “and were charged.”
Larcombe was charged with possession of altered property; unlawful possession of a handgun; theft by unlawful taking; and burglary with a weapon.
Mander was charged with fencing; unlawful possession of a handgun; theft by unlawful taking; and burglary with a weapon.
Both men are being housed in Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $100,000 bail each.
Grossman told the Herald the investigation remains ongoing. He stated any victims or witnesses are urged to contact State Police at 609-861-5698
