The committee will seek input from the public regarding transportation issues at an Aug. 31, 6:30 p.m. meeting at the main branch of Cape May County Library, 30 W. Mechanic St., Court House. The purpose of that meeting is to gather public comment and see that it gets forwarded to the proper channels, he said.
Hajek’s appointment is for two years. All members of the Citizens Advisory Committee are expected to be active, he said. Those who are not may not be reappointed by the board.
The committee was formed as part of the SJTPO structure to learn from the public what it deems important to future transportation needs. Its stated mission, “To provide citizens access to, and participation in, the regional planning and decision making process, and serve as an advisory role to both the policy board and the technical advisory committee.
All its meetings are public.
