By Press Release

LOWER TOWNSHIP — This current phase of work consists of reconstructing the subbase and installing base paving. Traffic on Bayshore Road is being detoured to Weber Avenue to Main Street to Georgia Avenue and then back to Bayshore Road. This phase of work also involves the Bayshore Road intersection with Fulling Mill Road. Westbound Fulling Mill Road traffic desiring to go north on Bayshore Road is being detoured at Franklin Avenue to Weber Avenue and then to Bayshore Road. Westbound Fulling Mill Road traffic desiring to go south on Bayshore Road will be detoured at Woolson Road to Greenwood Avenue and then to Bayshore Road.
Originally it was anticipated that the roadway would reopen late on Fri., April 27. Unfortunately, rain this week has delayed the contractor’s work schedule. It is now anticipated that the base paving will begin sometime mid-day on Fri., April 27. In order to achieve the goal of opening the roadway up as soon as possible, the contractor will be working thru the evening and possibly thru the night on Fri. with the expectation of opening the roadway back up to traffic sometime Sat. morning, weather permitting.
The public is urged to remain away from actual construction area during the paving operation due to the intense level of activity and limited visibility at night.
