UPDATE: The Middle Thorofare Bridge has reopened, according to the Lower Township Police Department.
DIAMOND BEACH – Motorists are advised that the Middle Thorofare bridge will remained closed Feb. 18 due to a small sinkhole in the roadway adjacent to the south abutment (Lunds side).
According to a release, a contractor will be installing a steel roadway plate in the coming hours, which will allow the roadway to reopen until a permanent repair can be completed next week.
