FOLSOM – South Jersey Gas will begin the installation of natural gas main to approximately 160 homes in Dennis Township Feb. 5, weather permitting. The work is expected to be completed by July.
Installation of 2-inch, 4-inch and 6-inch yellow plastic natural gas mains will take place along School House Road, Woodbine Boulevard, Gracetown Road, Tattlers Road, Kings Highway, Westcott Road, Sunny Lane, Shady Lane, Hagen Road, Garfield Avenue, N. Delsea Drive, County Road, Rt. 83, Village Lane, Cedar Mill Lane, Dennis Creek Road, Meerwald Road, Hoffman Drive, Bevis Court, Court House-South Dennis Road, Robin Drive, Easy Street, Gravel Hole Road, Beaver Dam Road, Tressler Lane, Boyle Road, Cedar Lane, Holly Glen Lane, and Holly Court. Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
To ensure safe travel, there will be lane closures with appropriate traffic control personnel directing motorists and pedestrians around all work. In addition, there may be some road closures on select narrow side streets where work will be performed. Residents and businesses along these streets will have access to and from their properties at all times.
All excavations will be restored on a daily basis. A temporary repair will be made in most cases until the final restoration occurs. Openings in concrete will be temporarily patched with asphalt until final restoration with concrete occurs. Final restorations and paving in the area are anticipated to be completed by spring 2018. All restorations are completed in compliance with local and county regulations.
